(Philadelphia, PA)  --  Ryne Sandberg is the new manager of the Philadelphia Phillies.  The Phillies have fired Charlie Manuel and replaced him with the former Chicago Cubs star.  Sandberg had been serving as the Phillies third base coach this season.  Manuel had been manager of the Phillies since 2005, winning a World Series championship in 2008.  The Phillies are in fourth place in the NL East this season at 53-and-67, 20-and-a-half games behind the first-place Atlanta Braves.
