Special Glasses Needed For Eclipse

Millions of Americans plan on watching the solar eclipse when it sweeps across the U.S. Monday.  Unfortunately, you won't be able to see it with you own eyes unless you have special glasses.  Doctors say intense sunlight from the eclipse can damage your retina.

They recommend wearing eclipse glasses with a solar filter that blocks out 99% of the sun's light.  The solar filter makes the sun look like a full moon in a night sky.  Eclipse glasses are available for free at many libraries.  Otherwise, you won't be able to safely look at the eclipse until the sun is fully obscured by the moon.
