AUGUSTA, Ga. - After leading the Columbus State University men's basketball team to two key victories over the past week, Landrius Horton was selected as the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week.

It's the third time this season the senior has earned the honor making him only the second player in Columbus State history to achieve the feat. CSU Hall of Famer Yandel Brown was tabbed as the Player of the Week three times over the course of the 2004-05 season.

Horton bounced back in a big way for the Cougars in a critical stretch of the year. On the road at Georgia College last Wednesday, Horton tied a career-high with 29 points in the Cougars 92-79 victory. He was efficient from the field going 12-for-17 while grabbing nine rebounds. Horton followed that performance with a double-double as Columbus State took down UNC Pembroke 84-79 in the Lumpkin Center last Saturday. The senior scored 20 points, pulled in 12 rebounds, and dished out four assists in the key Cougar win.

For the week, Horton averaged 24.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while adding five steals. He shot 63 percent (19-for-30) from the field and was 9-for-11 at the free throw line.

The Decatur, Ala. native is currently seventh in the PBC in scoring (17.1 PPG) and 12th in rebounding (7.2 reb/game). He has scored 20 points or more points in seven games this season with three double-doubles.
