Scott was one of 6 National Finalists for the 2008 Radio and Records News/Talk/Sports Local Personality of the Year Award. However he was beaten out by some guy in Los Angeles. Scott claims there was a "hanging chad" thing going on and is following up.
Scott has been the play-by-play voice of the Columbus State University Cougars for over 30 years, and is a member of the CSU Hall Of Fame.

He began his radio career in 1994 with Sunny 100 and worked for Rock 103 and B101, serving as the Program Director and Music Director. From 1994-1997, Wes hosted Not Quite Late Nite with Wes Carroll on TV and returned to TV in 2007 serving as the Entertainment correspondent in a weekly segment for WXTX Fox 54.
