MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After shooting a seven-over 295, the 20th-ranked Columbus State men's golf team finished fourth at the South/Southeast Region Preview. The tournament was held at the Irene Golf and Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Cougars concluded play with a three-round score of seven-over 871, 10 strokes behind Lincoln Memorial and second-ranked West Florida. West Florida won the tournament title after an one-hole playoff. Carson-Newman (869) was two shots ahead of CSU in third. Individually, Dan Bradbury of LMU shot a 11-under 205 to win the medalist honors.

"It was a disappoint way to end the tournament to be honest," stated Director of Golf Mark Immelman. "We started off well, but stumbled a bit through the middle portion of the round. We just lost momentum and then couldn't rebound."

"It was an acceptable fall and I look forward to getting to the drawing board with the boys. We intend to put in some hard work over the break to ensure we are ready for the spring."

Earning his third straight top-10 finish was Ronan Kleu. The sophomore wrapped up play in a tie for ninth after shooting an one-over 73 on Tuesday. He was poised for a below par round until a double-bogey on hole 18. For the tournament, Kleu shot a two-over 218.

Cole Cruickshank fired off Columbus State's best round on Tuesday with an even-par 72. The senior had three birdies over his opening nine holes and added a later one on the par-four 17th. Cruickshank finished the tournament in 12th place with a three-over 219.

Right behind his teammate was Jordan Doull who tied for 13th after posting a four-over 220. Doull shot a three-over 75 in round three.

Also shooting a three-over 75 on Tuesday was Preston Wagaman. Wagaman had a fantastic front nine posting a two-under, but a triple-bogey on hole 12 hurt his score. He finished the South/Southeast Region Preview in a tie for 17th with a five-over 221.

James Ashfield finished the tournament strong by carding a two-under across the final nine holes. Overall on Tuesday, Ashfield shot a three-over 75 to post a seven-over 223 for the event. He finished in a 21st place tie.

Playing as an individual, Louis Peeters shot a six-over 78 on Tuesday. His three-round total of 10-over put him in a tie for 30th.

CSU wrapped up its fall schedule with three top-five finishes in four tournaments. The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
