You're probably aware of the terms extrovert and introvert but you may not know that it's possible to be a bit of both.
Extroverted introverts often get mislabeled as extroverts because they tend to have their "life of the party" moments. They might be great on stage in front of a crowd. They also might enjoy the attention when in the moment... however it takes them a lot of time before and after to build up the energy to do all of that.
A friend recently shared an article about this phenomenon that does a pretty good job of breaking down the needs of an extroverted introvert but it doesn't spend enough time on phone calls.
I can't begin to explain what goes on in my mind when I need to make a phone call yet don't have the energy or mindset to make it.
There are times when I need to call a friend... someone I care about, and have a long and enjoyable chat with them. However, getting to the point where I can make the call can require time to get in the right mindset and build up the energy to get it done.
Otherwise, the article's author, Lauren Levine does a good job of breaking down extroverted introverts.
