A 41-year-old man was arrested on Sunday (July 27) after causing a disturbance on an EasyJet flight from London's Luton Airport to Glasgow, Scotland. The man, whose identity has not been released, reportedly shouted alarming phrases, including "I've got a bomb," "death to America," and "death to Trump," as well as "Allahu Akbar," which means "God is great" in Arabic.
Passengers on the flight quickly subdued the man, with one tackling him to the ground while others assisted in restraining him. The flight crew announced that the plane would land shortly after the incident began. Upon arrival at Glasgow Airport, Police Scotland boarded the aircraft and took the man into custody. The man remains in custody and is expected to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court.
EasyJet confirmed the incident and stated that the passenger was removed due to his behavior onboard. The airline emphasized that their crew is trained to handle such situations to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members. People magazine reported that counter-terrorism officers are assessing videos of the incident circulating online. Police Scotland stated that they believe the incident was contained and that no one else was involved.
