Tennessee Volunteers legend and New England Patriots backup quarterback Josh Dobbs acknowledged the changed perception in his alma mater's rivalry with the Alabama Crimson Tide ahead of the annual 'Third Saturday In October' game at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday (October 18) during an exclusive interview with iHeartMedia presented in partnership with Dr. Pepper's 'The Pepper Portal.'

Dobbs noted that the Vols have "gained some success within the rivalry," winning two of the last three matchups, including each of their last two home games against the Tide, having previously lost 15 consecutive from 2007 to 2021, which included all but one during legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban's 17-year tenure.

"We didn't have a ton of success against Alabama. We had some great games but never were able to pull out a victory and so it's been great to get back on the winning board," Dobbs said. "I think the next step is going to be going into Tuscaloosa and winning a football game there. We know that's a great environment but we know our fans travel well.

'The Pepper Portal' is a first-of-its-kind interactive fan experience that will connect Tennessee and Alabama fans from Cool Beans Bar and Grill in Knoxville and Rama in Tuscaloosa in the hours leading up to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Guests will be able to engage live with fans in the rival cities through the Pepper Portal, meet local NIL talent onsite, and celebrate gameday with Dr. Pepper.
