Penguins Enjoy China's Giant Ice Festival

Over the weekend, penguins went out to play at Northeast China's Harbin Ice Festival.

The birds live at an arctic-themed aquarium in the Chinese city that plays host to the festival.

Workers at their "Polarland Aquarium" home released half a dozen of the penguins onto the slick outdoor ice.

And even though they are used to near-zero temperatures, these penguins found themselves slipping and sliding on the icy surface.

They spent some time with other penguins in an outdoor enclosure for a promotional event during the ice festival.

But after 15 minutes, they were returned to their indoor homes where the temperature is a little warmer at below freezing.

The ice festival draws millions of visitors from around the world every year since it first opened in the early 1980's.
