Scott, who grew up in Atlanta, has been broadcasting and covering sports in Columbus since 1976, making him the dean of local sports journalists.
He has been the play-by-play voice of Columbus State University since 1977 and is a member of the Columbus State University Hall of Fame, and the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame.
He's been a Heisman Trophy voter since 1986, and is a multiple winner of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters “GABBY AWARD”, for best play-by-play broadcast.
He did TV play-by-play for Auburn University football and he has done radio play-by-play for NCAA football and baseball National Championship games, and NCAA national semi-final basketball games.
He was one of 6 national finalists for the 2008 “Radio and Records” News/Talk/Sports, local personality of the year award.
He’s been married to his wife, Peggy, since 1979. They have one child, Lauren, and a son-in-law, Miles. Their dog Rosie is the queen of the house.
