Preseason Honors For Columbus State Teams

CSU TEAMS PICK UP PRESEASON HONORS

TENNIS

The Columbus State University men's and women's tennis teams dominated the selections to the Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference Team.

The Lady Cougars picked up five of the six total selections on the women's side with Beatriz Lopez, Luise Sachs, Marleen Tilgner, Noa Davico and Candice Paya getting the nods. As for the men it was KP Pannu, Alvaro Regalado and Zach Whaanga that were picked to the team. Of the 12 total All-Conference selections the Cougars represented two-thirds of them with their eight total picks.

The Columbus State tennis teams begin the 2019 season on Sunday, Feb. 3 in Anderson, S.C.

BASEBALL

Columbus State University baseball players Kolton Ingram and Grant Berry were voted to the Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference Team.

 Ingram was selected to the 11-man team at pitcher, with Berry at second base. 

Columbus State opens the season Friday, Feb. 1 at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field, against West Alabama.

SOFTBALL

Columbus State University softball player Elizabeth Perdue was selected to the Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference Team.

 Perdue was voted to the 10-player team at first base.

 The Lady Cougars open the 2019 season Feb. 8 in Tigerville, S.C., with a doubleheader against North Greenville.
