Columbus State's Hannah Rose Corbin Named PBC Freshman Of The Week

Softball Freshman of the Week: Hannah Rose Corbin, Columbus State

Columbus State's Hannah Rose Corbin hit .429 with a .929 slugging percentage in six conference games last week.  The freshman designated  player also pitched in two games, going 1-1 with a 2.15 ERA.  At the plate, she homered and doubled against UNC Pembroke and Georgia Southwestern and drove in six runs on the week.  Three of her six hits went for extra bases and she drew five walks for a .579 on-base percentage.  In the circle she picked up her win with a complete-game effort against UNC Pembroke, allowing one run and four hits with five strikeouts.  Corbin leads the PBC in walks, is second in on-base percentage, seventh in slugging, tied for eighth in home runs.  She is also sixth in the PBC in ERA, tied for ninth in wins and 10thin strikeouts per game.

CSU begins play this weekend in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
