Track and Field Grabs Academic Recognitions

NEW ORLEANS - The Columbus State University women's track and field team, as well as two male student-athletes, received honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Lady Cougars were named as an USTFCCCA All-Academic team after posting a cumulative GPA of 3.02. With the honors, CSU has now earned the distinction for five straight seasons.
Individually, Cougars D'Andre Hall and Roosevelt Trammell earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
Hall, a sophomore sprinter, was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team for the Cougars this season. The quartet was impressive at the Peach Belt Conference Championship finishing in second place. A member of the CSU President's List, Hall is majoring in engineering.
Trammell wrapped up an impressive freshman season for the Cougars. In addition to his academic success, Trammell was CSU's best sprinter in 2019 finishing second in the PBC Championship with a 10.67 100-meter dash. He also ran CSU's fastest 200-meter dash (22.09) this season and was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team along with Hall. Trammell is majoring in management.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic award, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor season.
