Men's Golf Set to Play in Four Fall Events
By CSU Sports Information
COLUMBUS - Director of Golf Mark Immelman has announced the 2019 fall schedule for the Columbus State University men's golf team.
The Cougars will hit the links for four events in September and October, including hosting the prestigious Cougar Invitational Presented by Aflac on September 23 and 24 at the Country Club of Columbus.
"We have a young, talented and exciting team, and I look forward to getting to work and starting the season off on a positive note," commented Immelman. "With a view to the postseason, we have made a couple of changes to our fall schedule. These will pose a few new challenges, but we will be up for it."
The season begins on Sept. 16 as the Cougars participate in the Kiawah Island Invitational at the Osprey Point Golf Course.
After the Cougar Invitational, CSU will close out the fall campaign with two October events. On Oct. 14 and 15, the Cougars take the course at the Copperhead Championship hosted by West Florida at the Innisbrook Resort. Later in the month, Columbus State will match up against some of the top teams in the nation in the South/Southeast Region Preview in Memphis, Tenn. The two-day tournament will take place on Oct. 28 and 29 at the Irene Golf & Country Club.
The Columbus State University men's golf team is returning six players from last season's squad that reached the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, including All-American junior Jordan Doull.
