COLUMBUS - The 24th-ranked Columbus State University men's golf team is set to participate in the third annual Copperhead Championship at the Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Fla.

The Cougars will play 36 holes on Monday with the final 18 coming on Tuesday.

Third-ranked West Florida will serve as the tournament host in the loaded 17-team field. The entire top-five in the latest Golf Coaches Association of America poll will be in Palm Harbor with seven other ranked teams participating in the event.

Columbus State will return to the course after a three-week break following hosting the Cougar Invitational Presented by Aflac on Sept. 23 and Sept. 24. The Cougars grabbed a top-five finish after shooting a one-over 853 over the 54-hole tournament.

Junior Jordan Doull and sophomore Ronan Kleu each finished in the top-10 on the leaderboard. Doull finished in a tie for second place after posting a six-under 207 while Kleu shot a two-under 211. It was Kleu's first top-10 finish of his Cougar career.

Doull, Kleu and Cole Cruickshank will once again anchor the Columbus State lineup at the Copperhead Championship. Cole Kirkland and Preston Wagaman will be making their season debuts this week.
