AMERICUS, Ga. - The Columbus State University women's soccer team concluded the regular season with a flurry of second half goals en route to a 4-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern Wednesday. The Peach Belt Conference match took place at Hurricane Field in Americus, Ga.

After holding a 1-0 halftime lead, the Lady Cougars found the back of the net three times over the final 35 minutes of play.

"This wasn't our greatest performance, but you'll always take the victory on the road," commented head coach Jay Entlich. "It's a new slate now heading into the postseason. We have to go into training with that mindset and intensity because time is running out for us if we want to be playing late into this month and next."

It took some time for Columbus State (12-6, 7-4 PBC) to settle into the match. The Lady Cougars were able to fire off some shots, including a good look by Kimmy May in the 30th minute that had to be kicked clear by a Lady Hurricane defender.

However, in the 36th minute, the Lady Cougars struck for the opening goal. Off a May corner kick, freshman Carley Canzoneri was able to get just enough of the ball with her head for her second goal of the season.

Columbus State came out on the attack in the second half. In the 55th minute, Brenna Harrison continued her great work down the stretch of the season by finding the back of the net. Riley Clark picked up an assist on the play.

It then became the Brooke Ouimette show. After checking in the 72nd minute, the freshmen went to work. She scored her first collegiate goal in the 75th minute and later took a pass from Rachael Sweigard in the final minute to cap off Columbus State's scoring on the night.

The Lady Cougars held a dominating 21-2 shot advantage, including a 14-0 margin over the first 45 minutes of play. CSU had 12 corner kicks while Georgia Southwestern (3-12-2, 0-9-1) wasn't able to get to the corner for the entire match.

Junior Bria Riancho played the entire 90 minutes in net to record her third shutout of the season.

Columbus State will now prepare for the upcoming Peach Belt Conference Tournament which begins on Tuesday, Nov. 12. CSU will be the fourth seed in the tournament and will host a quarterfinal match at the Walden Soccer Complex against an opponent to be announced. The full bracket will be released on Saturday.
