Horton Voted PBC Player of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. - For the second time this season, Columbus State University men's basketball player Landrius Horton was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week.

A driving force behind two Cougar victories last week, Horton averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in the two outings. He shot 56 percent (15-for-27) from the field while adding 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

The senior began the week with a double-double performance against West Georgia scoring 21 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. It was his second double-double of the season. In the Cougar victory over Albany State on Saturday, Horton went off again, this time for 20 points. He was perfect from the free throw line (5-for-5) and was 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.

The Decatur, Ala. native has four 20-point games this season as he ranks fourth in the PBC in scoring (18.9 PPG). He is also tied for 10th in rebounding (7.4 rebs/game).

Horton and the Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday against Tuskegee. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. inside Chappie James Arena in Tuskegee, Ala. You can hear the game on NewsRadio 540 WDAK and iHeart Radio.
