Amazon is now the most valuable publicly traded company in the United States.
The giant online retailer eclipsed Microsoft on Monday to take the top spot after Amazon's shares rallied and increased its market value to nearly 800 billion.
Meanwhile, Microsoft's value is currently valued at 784 billion.
This marks the first time Amazon has reached the top status, ending Microsoft's brief return to the top after surpassing Apple in late November.
