China has released a panoramic photo of the far side of the moon taken by its lunar probe.
Media reported today that the image was created by stitching together 80 pictures taken by the camera on the probe.
The probe landed on an ancient area of the moon's surface,
The Chang'e 4 probe is the first craft to make a soft landing on the moon's far side, which faces away from Earth.
The probe will make astronomical observations and probe the structure and mineral composition of the terrain above and below the surface.
