Bees Delay Baseball Game

A swarm of bees delayed a Padres' game at Petco Park in San Diego yesterday.

Hosting the Miami Marlins, the invading bugs became too much to handle in the bottom of the third inning, forcing the home plate umpire to pause the National League Contest.

Bees began gathering around a microphone hanging off the backstop near the Padres' dugout.

As time went on, the swarm around the microphone grew much, much larger.

The Padres' Austin Hedges dressed in a Deadpool mask and armed with baseball bats offered his services to rid the field of the buzzing bevy of bees.

Thankfully, the Petco Park grounds crew used a trained professional instead and the game was able to resume after a delay of about 30 minutes.
