Cougars Fourth Through 36 Holes in Lakeland, Florida

CSU Sports Information - The Columbus State University men's golf team sits in fourth after the opening day of the Matlock Collegiate Classic. The two-day tournament is being played at Lone Palm Golf Club. The Cougars shot 1-over 289 in the opening round and followed it up with 2-over 290 in round two.

Third-ranked Lynn (567) currently sits in first, 10 shots ahead of the second place tie between No. 1 Barry and No. 6 West Florida who each carded 36-hole totals of 577. The host school, seventh-ranked Florida Southern (580), rounds out the top five.

Sophomore Jordan Doull led the way for CSU shooting a 3-under 69 in the first round after racking up four birdies. He came into the clubhouse with a 2-under 70 in round two to put him in third place overall with a 5-under 139.

Ronan Kleu gives Columbus State a second top-ten player after he finished with a 2-under 142 collecting a combined eight birdies in the two rounds to put him in a tie for eighth overall.

Preston Wagaman  is tied for 27 th  at 4-over after shooting rounds of 75 and 73. Cole Cruickshank also collected eight birdies through the two rounds putting him in a tie for 38 th at 6-over. Adam Aycock finished with a score of 80 in both rounds putting him in 74 th at 16-over.

Columbus State will finish up its opening tournament of the spring season Tuesday.
