COLUMBUS -In front of a sellout, standing room only crowd at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field, the Columbus State University baseball team hosted Auburn in its first fall game of 2019.
The Cougars and Tigers were tied at two through five innings before Auburn scored runs in the sixth and the eighth to win 9-3.
"This was just a fantastic experience for everyone involved," commented head coach Greg Appleton. "The community showed their full support tonight, and I know these guys are going to remember this one for a long time."
"We would like to thank Brigade Commander Colonel [Michael] Scarpulla for coming out to throw the first pitch and everyone else who had a hand in making this a first-class experience for both teams."
Columbus State will continue its fall season over the next month.
