Doull Named PBC Player of the Week
Columbus State University men's golfer Jordan Doull was named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week.
Doull finished tied for fourth at the Copperhead Championship competing against 12 other nationally ranked teams, including all the entire top-five in the latest national coaching poll.
After shooting a 75 in the first round, he finished the tournament strong with back-to-back rounds of two-under 69s to finish the 54-hole event with an even par score.
The junior finished higher than any other PBC golfer. He was just one stroke away from a second place tie to help CSU finish second out of 17 teams.
Doull has finished in the top-10 in every tournament this season with two in the top-five performances. The junior is fourth in the Peach Belt with a 70.13 stroke average.
Brown Named PBC Runner of the Week
Columbus State University women's cross country runner Tanzanie Brown was recognized as the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week, after her performance at the Bobcat Invitational.
The junior finished the meet second, just missing out on her first individual title as a Lady Cougar. She set a season-best 6k time for herself completing the 6k course in 22:30.5. Her time is the second fastest mark in the PBC in 2019.
Brown has been outstanding in her first season as a Lady Cougar. She has collected three second place finishes while grabbing a top-10 performance in the loaded Bulldog Stampede field.
Clark, Goodfellow Earn PBC Weekly Awards
After earning two Peach Belt Conference victories this past week, Columbus State University women's soccer players Riley Clark and Madeline Goodfellow collected weekly awards from the conference office.
Clark was tabbed as the Player of the Week while Goodfellow was named the Defender of the Week.
In the midst of one of the best stretches of her career, Clark scored four goals in the two Columbus State wins this past week. Against Young Harris, Clark found the back of the net in just the third minute to set the tone for a 4-0 CSU victory. To cap off the week, Clark notched her third career hat trick by leading Columbus State to a 3-1 victory over Clayton State.
The Peachtree City, Ga. native has now scored in five straight matches, the longest scoring streak of her career. She is also 10th all-time in PBC history with 46 career goals.
The anchor of Columbus State's backline, Goodfellow helped limit YHC to just four shots in the shutout victory. She played the entire match against Clayton State to earn her first PBC Defender of the Week honors.
Goodfellow is the only Lady Cougar so far this season to log over 1,000 minutes of action (1,065).
