AUGUSTA, Ga. - For the second consecutive week, the Columbus State University women's soccer program won both the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week and Defender of the Week awards.

After a historic performance on Saturday against USC Aiken, sophomore Kimmy Edgeworth was tabbed as the conference's Player of the Week. Freshman Carley Canzoneri, who helped the Lady Cougars to two shutout victories, earned her first weekly award from the conference.

Edgeworth became the first player in program history to score four goals in a match in Columbus State's 9-0 victory over the Pacers. With CSU up 2-0, the sophomore netted a hat trick before the first half was over to increase the lead. In the second period, she found the record-breaking goal in the 59th minute while also picking an assist. Edgeworth's nine points tied the all-time mark in CSU history as well.

She became just the 24th player in PBC history to have four or more goals in a match.

Canzoneri was crucial in Columbus State's 1-0 victory over previously unbeaten Nova Southeastern on Oct. 16. Playing the entire 90 minutes, the freshman made key stops throughout the match as the Lady Cougars shutout the nation's top-scoring offense. Canzoneri and the defense were back at it on Saturday limiting USC Aiken to five shots, with just three on goal, in Columbus State's fourth shutout of the season.

The Suwanne, Ga. native also got into the scoring column for the first time in her career against USC Aiken. Off a Tehgan Anguilm corner kick in the 13th minute, Canzoneri was in the perfect position in the box to head home the goal.

Columbus State will return to the pitch on Wednesday against Albany State. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in Albany, Ga. at the West Campus Field.
