By CSU Sports Information

AUGUSTA, Ga. - After earning All-Conference honors a season ago, Columbus State University men's basketball player Landrius Horton was selected to the preseason All-Peach Belt Conference team on Wednesday. The team was selected by the league's head coaches.

Horton joins Xzavier Barmore of USC Aiken, Rafael Monterio of Augusta, Akia Pruitt of UNC Pembroke, and Jordan Thomas of Georgia College on the five-member team.

Coming off an impressive junior season, Horton looks to continue his strong play in 2019-20. Collecting 12 double-doubles, the senior nearly averaged a double-double over last season. He paced the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game while leading the PBC in rebounding pulling in 9.3 board per game. He ranked 29th at the NCAA Division II level in rebounding.

The Decatur, Ala. native had five 20-point outings and posted the PBC's only 20-rebound performance in 2018-19 against North Georgia.

Horton is the first preseason All-Conference selection for the Cougars since 2017 when JaCori Payne was honored by the conference to begin the year.

Columbus State will play its lone exhibition game of the preseason on Friday against Florida State on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in Tallahassee, Fla. The Seminoles reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 last season. Fans will be able to listen to the game live on NewsRadio 540 with CSU Hall of Fame broadcaster Scott Miller on the call.
