COLUMBUS - In what has become an annual tradition, the Columbus State University Athletics Department participated in the "Cougars for Causes" campaign this holiday season.

"Cougars for Causes" is a campus-wide initiative to donate toys, books, and other items for the less fortunate in the Columbus area. The Columbus State Police Department organizes the event.

"We look forward to teaming up with CSU Campus Safety each year for this important and impactful program," saidTodd Reeser, Director of Athletics. "Throughout the year our student-athletes, coaches, and staff participate in activities totaling over 3,000 community service hours, and this one certainly means a lot to the youngsters who receive a gift at this special time of the year."

Overall, the Columbus State community donated numerous toys and other items over November and December that will be given to children who are currently hospitalized. These items will help bring cheer this holiday season to children all across the Chattahoochee Valley.

Throughout the year, the Columbus State University Athletics Department participates in a number of activities to show Columbus and the surrounding area how much its support means to the Cougar family.
